Letter from the 1st Vice President
Hi Ladies –
We all ‘Give our Thanks’ to Kathy Lamb bringing us a really cute project for the holidays.
Thanks Kathy for a great workshop. This was a really cute way to get a jump start on our
holiday décor.
Since Claire LaRue, our scheduled teacher for November, has had a very bad fall that required
surgery, Lisa Fox jumped in to save the day. She has created a few beautiful
projects for our members to choose from for the November workshop.
At the October meeting, the lovely ‘Pink Poinsettia’ watercolor was chosen for our November
project. There is no prep work required for this project and Lisa will supply the paints needed.
Don’t miss painting this lovely project.
Now, I’ll let you in on a little secret! We will be rescheduling Claire’s project ‘Snowman Pail’
next year. Be sure to keep those prepped surfaces readily available – you’ll have a chance to use
them.
In November’s 15-minute, mini-class, Lynn Rankin will be teaching finishing tips. This is
information that is usable for every one of us.
For November, lunch will NOT be served so be sure to bring your own lunch. Coffee and snacks
will still be provided as always.
Sign-ups are now being taken for our final project of the year. Please contact me directly if you
want to sign up for the November 9
th
Workshop -- time is short.
If you have any questions or need something, you can always contact me by email
(rcm0335@gmail.com) or phone (386-338-3137).
See you all at the November 9th Workshop, if not
before.
Ruth McDonald,
ABOUT US
Our Club was formed in 2003. Since that time, members have
enjoyed trying their skills at various types of art: oil, acrylic, fabric
and water color painting, tangles, colored pencil, and glass
painting. We paint on many different surfaces, including canvas,
gourds, baskets, and wooden surfaces.
Our mission is to stimulate interest and appreciation of decorative
painting. There is no required level of experience. We invite you
to participate in two nonmember sessions without joining.
Workshop classes are $15 for members and $20 for
nonmembers. We support new members by providing them with
some supplies and helping them learn to paint.
We have supported various Community projects, such as the
Humane Society, Christmas Come True, painted boxes for foster
care children, and painted a mural for the Flagler Woman’s Club.
In 2023 we reformed as a Club with the name of Palm Coast
Decorative Artists. Our goals and projects remain the same and
our love of painting has grown.
Meetings are held the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 a.m.
at the Flagler Women’s Club, 1524 S. Central Avenue, Flagler
Beach, FL. After our meeting, we have a scheduled workshop.
